Our Class Pledge
MRS. BRUCE'S BUNCH 2018-2019
Thanks for visiting our site; we are glad you're here. YOU are your child's first and most important teacher. We work together as a team to ensure that your child gets the best education possible. I welcome and appreciate your input since you are the expert on your child. Here is how we keep each other in the loop.
Communication Folder
* Your child will bring home all classwork and letters in their communication folder.
* Please check the folder daily for any important letters from me or from the school.
* Please empty the folder daily.
* Please be sure your child brings the folder to and from school every day.
* There are two sides to the folder.
++The "Left at Home" side is for notes and papers that go home and stay home. These are for you and do not need to come back to school.
++The "Bring Right Back" side is for behavior sheets, permission slips, and other papers that need to be completed and returned to school. This is where you can also place notes for me.
* Please place any notes for me in the folder. If you are sending money to school for a field trip or fundraiser, please put it in a labeled and sealed envelope or baggy. I suggest that when your child arrives home from school, they tell you about their day, share their work with you, and get papers signed. Then return everything to their backpacks so it is ready to go the next morning.
Weekly Newsletters
Each week I will send home a newsletter to let you know what will be happening during the week in our class. Weekly sight words will be found on this paper as well as any events going on in school that week.
Homework Calendars
Homework Calendars go home monthly. They have 5-10 minutes of activities you can do with your child a few evenings a week to support the work we are doing in class. You and your child should choose the activities that you find the most engaging. These calendars are meant to be flexible and all activities can be modified to meet your child's needs and abilities. The activities are optional and they are not collected or graded. The goal is to help you carry on their learning at home in a fun and age appropriate way. If there is a particular activity your child would like to share with us, we always love to see what they are learning at home so feel free to let them bring completed activities in if they wish.
**Always feel free to contact me via email at [email protected] or call the school to schedule an appointment for us to meet. This allows me to give you my full attention without interrupting instructional time.
